Raw Vegan Treats

This review is from: Raw Vegan Treats - 30 easy and delicious sweets and treats for all the family to enjoy (Kindle Edition)
I have to say, right up front, that I have read this book but I have not made any of the delicious sounding sweets and treats.
It did however inspire me with lots of ideas of my own and that after all is often what a Cookbook is for.

The most important ingredient in this Recipe Book is your Food Processor. All the recipes rely heavily on processing the fruits and nuts to dough like consistency. For my self, I prefer a less processed style.

The writer is a Health practitioner and gives you a link at the end of the book to her website and products.
As a health practitioner she understands that women love and need, Chocolate, Sweets, Spice and all things nice and she has produced a range of Recipes that really inspire, while at the same time offering distinct Health Benefits.
In some of the Recipes she has added nutritional information and guidance.

A truly delightful reference Book for anyone who thinks that the way to better health is by giving up the good things in life.

The Body Departed

I loved this short story about a ghost who needs to atone for a long past sin before he can move on.

It is a very light story, no preaching or heavy moral lessons here, but a lighthearted and enjoyable read.

I have read several of J.R.Rains stories and he is often inclined to repeat passages and his characters beat themselves up endlessly, but I did not notice this habit in this Story. Perhaps the whole story was so light or so gripping that I did not notice, or perhaps the self criticism was more realistic to this story.....anyway.....

A light hearted and enjoyable read that sent me off to read more of J.R.Rains work.

Gone Again

A young Mother is missing.
A frantic young Father fights hard to keep his sanity and give his young son as normal a life as possible while they wait for the prescribed time allotted by police before a missing persons report can be investigated.
Once that time has passed it is clear that the young Father himself is the prime suspect, so he must do the best he can not only to provide normality for his son, but to find out where his wife has gone. When her body washes up on a local beach the local constabulary are sure they have their man. The frantic young Father must follow the only clues he has to clear his name and find his wife's killer. In doing so a trail of violence and crime are uncovered.
The novel is nicely written and kept me tied to the pages.
The action takes place over a very short time frame and is very neatly controlled and wrapped up. It is certainly a harrowing thought for any of us to imagine ourselves in this young man's shoes.
To my own naive and protected perspective, the violence was just a little outside reality, but only just. Gone Again
